Open Enrollment is the annual period when people can sign up for, change, or renew their individual and family health insurance coverage through Washington Healthplanfinder for the upcoming year.
Let’s work together this Open Enrollment to help your patients explore coverage through Washington Healthplanfinder (wahealthplanfinder.org) and find enrollment support. Here are three updates for as we look to 2027: key dates, CHPW Cascade Select’s expansion into San Juan County, and tips to help patients compare plans, explore savings, and connect to care.
1. Key Open Enrollment dates to keep in mind
Open Enrollment for 2027 individual and family coverage through Washington Healthplanfinder runs November 1, 2026–January 15, 2027.
Share these deadlines with patients who need to enroll in, change, or renew their individual and family coverage.
2. CHPW Cascade Select expands into San Juan County
CHPW Cascade Select is expanding into San Juan County for 2027, giving residents another individual and family coverage option. This increased our service area to 27 counties across Washington state.
As we prepare to welcome new members, we’re focused on access to care and building connections with providers and community partners to support the unique needs of island communities. Encourage patients considering a plan to confirm that their providers and hospitals participate in its network before enrolling. See our Find-a-doctor search tool on our website.
3. Help patients choose coverage and connect to care
Providers and clinic staff can share these reminders to help patients prepare:
- Check networks and costs. Review participating providers, monthly premiums, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket costs.
- Explore financial help. Washington Healthplanfinder checks eligibility for available savings and lets patients compare plans. Many Washington residents qualify for financial help. If they qualify, federal premium tax credits and state Cascade Care Savings can significantly lower monthly insurance bills.
- Plan for care. Once coverage begins, encourage patients to schedule preventive visits, stay current on recommended screenings and vaccines, and consider virtual care when appropriate.
When you enter your information into Washington Healthplanfinder, the system checks your eligibility, estimates costs and any savings, and lets you compare plans side by side.
Plans purchased through Washington Healthplanfinder, including CHPW Individual & Family Cascade Select, cover eligible preventive services—such as recommended screenings and vaccines—at no out-of-pocket cost when patients use an in-network provider.
